Shirley Thayer Belk Shaffer

Shirley Thayer Belk Shaffer, 77, wife of Robert A. Shaffer of North Charleston, SC, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, February 8, 2011. The relatives and friends of Shirley Shaffer are invited to attend her funeral services at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, Friday, February 11, 2011 at 3 p.m.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's North Area Chapel Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Shaffer was born April 19, 1933 in Elkhorn, WI, daughter of the late Henry Belk and Mable Thayer Belk.  She was a seamstress at Charleston Manufacturing. A former member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God, Shirley will be missed by her family and many friends.

Mrs. Shaffer is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Shaffer of North Charleston, SC;  2 daughters: Linda Shaffer of Los Angeles, CA and Penny Johnson of N. Charleston; 3 sisters: Barbara Cox of Oldsmar, FL, Dolores Duda of Las Vegas, NV and Arline Hyatt of New Port Richey, FL.
