Shirley Ann King, 84, of North Charleston SC, wife of the late Tolar King entered into eternal rest Monday, April 21, 2025. Her graveside service will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 in the Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Shirley was born May 27, 1940 in Gibson, Louisiana, daughter of the late Ruby Jean McLain. Shirley and Tolar were married on September 27, 1960 and were inseparable during their 59 years of marriage. They were both members of Riverbluff Church in Charleston SC. A devoted homemaker, Shirley dedicated her life to raising their 2 children. Once they were grown, she enjoyed working at Hanahan High School. Shirley also loved working with her flowers, gardening, walking on the beach and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Waterlander (Ronald) of Savannah Ga; Donnie King (Khin) of N. Charleston, SC; two Grandsons, Kevin J. Waterlander (Micah) and Brian J. Waterlander (Jamie);and 3 great grand children, James, Marshall and Josie Waterlander. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tolar, and 6 siblings: Louise, Vivian, Billie, Ruby, Sissy and Freddy.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130 Charleston SC 29407 or Agape Care, South Carolina.
