Shirley Jean Hunter, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 16, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in the Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2025 Bees Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Shirley was born August 29, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Nathan and Mildred Garfinkel. She was a Member of the Ladies Mission at Grace on the Ashley. She enjoyed quilting and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Bone Horton, AL; brother, Nathan Saul Garfinkel of Houston, TX; niece, Rosemary Meeks; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sons, Shawn Hunter of Horton, AL, Travis Hunter of San Diego, CA, Blake Hunter of Charleston, SC, Henry Sposto Jr., Franklin Sposto; and great-niece, Diamond Rose Neely Garfinkel.

Memorials may be made to Grace on the Ashley.
