Shirley Mae Hartley, 78, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside on Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Shirley was born April 30, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Elbert Young Cales and the late Madge Moore Cales. She retired from Piggly Wiggly after 54 years. Shirley attended Charleston Baptist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her son, Richard Eugene Hartley Jr. and daughter-in-law, Michelle Taylor Hartley, both of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Hartley and Samantha Elizabeth Hartley, both of Charleston, SC; her brother, EC Cales, of Goose Creek, SC; her sisters, Willie Mae Cales Tisdale and Joyce Cales, both of Kingstree, SC; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Creola Cadden, of Adams Run, SC
