Shirley Giles Gleaton

Shirley Giles Gleaton, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Paul Evans Gleaton, Sr. entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 6, 2015. Her graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in Barnwell Cemetery, Barnwell, SC at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Shirley was born March 9, 1931 in Barnwell, SC, daughter of the late William E. Giles and Essie Morris Giles. She was a graduate of Barnwell High School and attended Columbia College. Shirley was a wonderful mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family.

She is survived by her son, Paul Evans Gleaton, Jr., (Cynthia) of Charleston, SC, two daughters, LeAnne G. Leighton of Summerville, SC, Jacqueline G. Wham (Joe) of Charleston, SC, five grandchildren, John and his wife Kim Leighton, Elizabeth Leighton, Ryan Wham, Justin Wham and, Kristopher Wham; four great-grandchildren, Charles, and Sanders Leighton, Max Wham and John Walker Wham. Shirley was predeceased by a brother, William E. Giles, Jr.
