Shirley Ruth Arroll

March 16, 1921 — September 13, 2012

Shirley Meyer Arroll, formerly of Hampton, VA, died peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 13, 2012. Graveside services were held Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Mrs. Arroll was born March 16, 1921 in Newport News, Virginia, daughter of Adolf and Annie Levy Meyer. She retired from civil service as a procurement agent for Post Engineers, Fort Monroe, Virginia. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Sentara Hampton General Hospital. Mrs. Arroll was a member of the B'nai Israel Synagogue in Hampton, VA.

Mrs. Arroll was predeceased by her brother, Willard Meyer. She is survived by her sister; Miriam Want of Yukon, Oklahoma; two daughters, Pamela Aronson and her husband, Yaakov of Rehovot, Israel and Sharon Forman of Mt. Pleasant, SC, nine grandchildren, and thirty four great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Lutheran Hospice of Charleston for the wonderful care and support given to Mrs. Arroll and the family and to the caring staff of Cooper Hall (The Palms). A special thanks to the three wonderful women, Mary Smalls, Genet Robinson, and Catherine Brown, for their devoted care.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lutheran Hospice Gesher Program, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Suite 46, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
