Sherry Lynn Beck Long

Sherry Lynn Beck Long, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 20, 2022. Her Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Sherry Lynn was born August 30, 1946 in Thomasville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Byron Perry Beck and Gladys Ann Atkins. She devoted her life to her kids and grandkids and had a special relationship with each one. Known as mom not just to her kids, but all their friends and partners. She was everyone's mom. She was mostly know as Granna, Granny-Gran and GooGoo to her most beloved grandchildren. They were the reason for her survival over the past seven years. She never met a stranger, loved to talk about anything or nothing. She loved conversation and socializing with family, friends and strangers. Sherry loved to travel and cooking special things for family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Bobby Beck.  

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Small of Charleston, SC, Sandra Clay of Goose Creek, SC; son, Christopher Small of Charleston, SC; sister, Teresa Gunter of Palm Harbor, FL; five grandchildren, David Petrovich, Danielle Petrovich, Julie Small, Perry Small, Malayna Small; four great grandchildren, Bradley, Tristan, Kamdin, Marilyn; upcoming arrival; best friend, Yvonne Gilreath and a plethora of adopted kids and grandkids.
