Shelba Clarise Catterton, 83, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of the late Andrew "Andy" Clarence Catterton, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 7, 2026. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 14, 2026 at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Shelba was born July 5, 1943 in Homerville, Georgia, daughter of the late Dolphus P. Smith, Sr. and Ruby Lee Allen Smith. She was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church. She often enjoyed crocheting and most importantly, spending time with her family. =

She is survived by two daughters, Jan Buice (Johnny) of Johns Island, SC, Sherri Lero (Stephen) of James Island, SC; son, Richard Hough (Melissa) of Meggett, SC; grandchildren, Shannon Buice, Kristen Hubbard (Hub), John Buice, Joseph Smith, Tyler Lero (Christi) Megan Cope (Tanner), Calli Hough (Ben), Cody Hough (Schuyler); great-grandchildren, Dixon, Madisyn, Aubrey, Frankie, Edie, Baby Cope; brothers, Butch Smith (Gail) of Homerville, GA, Ronnie Smith of Valdosta, GA; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy "Bubba" Hough, Jr.; brother, Dolphus Smith, Jr.; and sisters, Kay McIntyre, and Phyllis Shirley
