Sheila Grady Rumsey

Sheila Grady Rumsey, born on April 29, 1941, in San Francisco, California, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2025. She was a paralegal whose professional life was marked by dedication and excellence.

A devoted member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Sheila poured her heart into serving others and was notably active as a volunteer in the church office. Her selflessness and compassion were evident in all her endeavors, embodying the spirit of community service. Sheila was also a proud member of the South Carolina Yacht Club, where she cultivated friendships and shared her love for the water. Her passion for reading brought her and her friends joy and enrichment, leading her to start two different book clubs associated with TidePointe and the South Carolina Yacht Club.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband, John Landon Rumsey; her daughter, Lindsey Valentine Ragghianti (David Planka); and her cherished grandson, Lucas Grady Ragghianti.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Lewis Grady; her father, Robert Bernard Grady; and her brothers, Brian Grady and Keith Grady.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025 at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Hilton Head Island at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow in the Kronz Fellowship Hall. An additional memorial service will be held in Marin County, CA at a future date.
