Shawn "Tiny" Jerrard Etier, 43, of Johns Island, SC, husband of Rachel Etier, died Saturday, December 31, 2016. His funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017, in Summerall Chapel, The Citadel, 171 Moultrie Street, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Shawn was born February 3, 1973 in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Chuck Etier and Theresa McDaniel Plyler. He was the Director of Pre-Construction Services for Terratec, Inc. and was Vice President of GS2 Engineering. Shawn was a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1996, and was a member of Etiwan Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Etier of North Charleston, SC; mother, Theresa McDaniel Plyler of Cheraw, SC; daughter, Sophia Hattie Etier and son, Alexander Maximus Etier, both of North Florence, MT; two brothers, Edward Doyle Plyler, Jr. (Alli) of Chapin, SC, and Nic Etier (Stephanie) of Waxhaw, NC; and sister, Brandis Plyler Hall (Scotty) of Cheraw, SC.
