Sharon Kaye Walker, 58, of Goose Creek, SC, wife of Gary Lee Bavis, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday, August 3, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Sharon was born July 26, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, daughter of the late Arnold Lee Walker and the late Delores Mae Mann Walker. She was a print shop supervisor at Trident Technical College. She was selfless, compassionate and a hard worker who always took care of others. Sharon was like a second mother to many neighborhood children. She was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee Bavis of Goose Creek; son, Eric Glessner of Charleston; daughter, Jessica Garris (Erik) of Summerville; four brothers, Micky Walker of Albany, GA, Kenny Walker of Edisto Beach, Tim Walker (Carol) of Goose Creek and Steve Walker of Goose Creek; sister, Pam Burke (Tony) of Goose Creek; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Walker.
