Sharon Lee Rabun, 81, of North Charleston, SC, widow of William Eugene Rabun, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
Born April 16, 1931 in Hot Springs, Arkansas; she was the daughter of James Robert Smith, Sr. and Ruth Viola Hall Smith. During the summer between her junior and senior years she married her high school sweetheart. She graduated from City High School in Chattanooga and went on to become a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed doing mission work with the United Methodist Church and traveling in the US and internationally. Sharon was a senior docent at the Aiken-Rhett House in Charleston, SC.
Mrs. Rabun is survived by her four children: Nancy Rabun Hall of Vail, CO; Jeff A. Rabun and his wife Carole of Ladson, SC; Jim Rabun of North Charleston, SC and Judy R. Burbage and her husband Randy of Hanahan, SC; five grandchildren: Lauren Lee Lambert, Rabun Howard Jones, Jessica Lynne Rabun, Gregory Lewis Howard and Aubrey Anna Rabun and great-grandson Jackson Lambert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, James Robert Smith, Jr.
The family will receive friends in HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Friday, May 11, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 3PM at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to music fund at Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
