Sharon Kaye Smith Hall

Sharon Kaye Smith Hall, 74, of Mount Pleasant, 29466, wife of Stan D. Hall, entered into heaven Tuesday, May 3, 2022.  Her memorial service will be held on June 4, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. 

Sharon was born December 23, 1947 in Rockwood, Tennessee, daughter of the late Grover Marion Smith and the late Grace Agnes Byrd Smith.   Sharon attended Central High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  She married and moved to Greenville, SC where she avidly volunteered in her church, Junior League, and her children’s schools ultimately serving as the Greenville County School District PTA President.  Later, Sharon graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate and became a High School teacher of Civics and Economics.  She taught in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District in the International Baccalaureate program traveling abroad to promote the IB program. Throughout, Sharon enjoyed playing golf and tennis. She was a longtime member of Taylor’s First Baptist Church and was also a member of Mount Pleasant First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Stan Hall; daughter, Tara Griffin (Brent) of Mount Pleasant; son, Matt Hall (Jennifer) of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren, Garrett Griffin, Grace Griffin, Parker Hall, Morgan Hall, and Braden Hall; and two sisters, Freida Jones (Glenn) of Gallatin, TN, and Doris Kidwell of Chattanooga, TN.
