Sarah Chambers Shackelford

Sarah Chambers Shackelford, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Phillip Green Shackelford entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 26, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 12:00 p.m. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to service in the Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Sarah was born August 20, 1930 in Decatur, Georgia, daughter of the late William Henry Chambers and Minna McDowell Chambers. She was a retired Special Education Teacher's Assistant with Charleston County and a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 71 years, Phillip; daughters: Rebecca Sigmon (Lee) of Leawood, KS and Darlene S. Poston (Derek) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Phillip G. Shackelford (Teresa) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Sarah Kathleen Shackelford of Mt. Pleasant, SC, five grandsons:Reid Sigmon of Knoxville, TN, Christopher Poston (Varity) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, David Aja-Sigmon (Vanessa) of Brooklyn, NY, Keith Poston (Carla) of McClellanville, SC and Phillip Sigmon (Casey)of Weston, MO; and ten great-grandchildren.
