Sarah Lillian Maupin Jones

Sarah Lillian Maupin Jones, 96, a resident of Franke at Seaside for the past nine years, formerly of Waynesboro, VA. died Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was the wife of the late Malcolm G Jones, Sr. Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant at 3:00 pm. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Sarah was born September 6, 1917 in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, daughter of the late James T. Maupin and the late Daisy Tribett Maupin. She was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro, VA where she served as a deacon and an elder. During her years in Waynesboro she was involved with the YMCA, the United Way, Mary Baldwin College and was an avid golfer. She was a member of PEO Chapter Z.

She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Morgan (Roy) of Winston-Salem, NC and Mary Reed (Jimmy) of Mount Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren: Heather Morgan Zifchak (Pete), Thomas V. Morgan, Sarah Reed Haugen (Kurt); two great grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Zifchak and Cole James Haugen as well as a large extended family.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Franke, the Keil Health Center staff for their loving care these last two months and special thanks to her caregiver, Kathy Robinson, whose loyalty and devotion meant so much to Mrs. Jones and her family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
