Sarah Kelley Blackman, age 77, of Hanahan, SC, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. She was born on February 23, 1940, in Columbia, TN and was the daughter of the late Hattie Kelley and Herman Kelley. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Kelley, of Hampshire, TN.
She was a successful entrepreneur for many decades in the Charleston area. She was an avid bridge player. She also loved to travel with her family and friends. Italy held a special place in her heart. Known as "Nana", she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter: Crystal Blackman of North Charleston; son: Stephen Blackman, Jr. (Robin) of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Lauren, and Jordan Blackman of Mount Pleasant; former husband, Stephen Blackman of Johns Island; sister: Ann Chaney Barefoot of Columbia, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Stuhr Mt. Pleasant Chapel with Pastor Randell Blackman officiating at 3:00 pm. The burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
