Sara Horton Mills, 58, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 17, 2018. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 in St. John's Lutheran Church, 5 Clifford Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment following will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway, SC at 3:30 p.m.

Born December 20th in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Mrs. Sara Dukes Mills of Columbia and the late Mr. Harvey Augustus Mills. She was the granddaughter of the late Honorable John Harpin Dukes and Mrs. Eugenia Andersen Dukes, as well the late Mr. Lewis Francis Mills and Mrs. Annie Mills. Ms. Mills was predeceased by Mr. H. Ron Burgess. She was a graduate of Irmo High School and the University of South Carolina. Ms. Mills was a Vice President with TD Bank in Charleston. She had a very successful career in banking and was honored as one of the most outstanding young business women in America. Ms. Mills was a member of the United Methodist Church, as well as the ASPCA.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, Mr. John Andersen Mills (Eleanor) of Apex, NC and Mr. Michael Stuart Mills of Columbia, and a sister Mrs. Lee Mills Finney (Charles) of Boca Raton, FL. She is also survived by her nieces, Ms. Barbara Elizabeth Mills, Dr. Sara Chandler Finney Inabinet (Walker), and Miss Colin Elizabeth Finney, and a nephew, Mr. John Stuart Mills (Cara).
