Sara Jo Gamble Freeman, 91, wife of the late James Frampton Freeman of Indiantown, Union, and Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012. The funeral service for Sara Jo Freeman will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard. Arrangements by J. Mrs. Freeman was born February 10, 1921 in Indiantown, SC, daughter of the late Robert Clyde and Josie Bartell Gamble. She grew up in Indiantown and graduated from Limestone College. After WWII she married the love of her life, James Frampton Freeman. They lived for many years in Union, SC where Framp worked for The International Paper Company and Sara Jo taught school. Many joyous summer vacations were spent at Litchfield Beach with extended family. They later retired to Sara Jo's home in Indiantown. Sara Jo was an accomplished gardener and took great joy in her flowers and vegetables. She was a member of the Indiantown Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was very active in Presbyterian Women of PCUSA.
Surviving are her daughter, Sara Ellen Freeman Ash and her husband, Lloyd of Columbia, SC; her two grandchildren, Martha Frances Ash Giacomarro (Robbie) of Charleston, SC, and Frampton Freeman Ash (Jessica) of Greenville, SC; her two great grandchildren Hunter and Jackson Giacomarro, her sister Carolyn Gamble Lanning; her brother Richard Gamble (Juana) and her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by one brother Robert Gamble.
