Sandra Stenzler Schwarz

Sandra Stenzler Schwarz, 71, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.

Sandra was born February 16, 1950 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and grew up in Elkins Park, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Erna Israel Stenzler. Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years Robert Schwarz, her sister Terry Bala and her husband John, and Cousins Linda Anderson and William Kenney. A 20-year resident of Stono Ferry, Sandy will be especially missed by her close friend Susie Arrington and Stono Ferry Residents.

Sandy received her Bachelors' degree in Sociology from Margery Merriweather Post University on Long Island; Her Masters' Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland; and her PhD from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Retired at the time of her death, Sandra was a Special Education Teacher and Social Psychologist in Washington, DC.

Active in Stono Ferry women's organizations, Sandy was a founding member of Stono Ferry Cares, a community organization which provided support for families and individuals in need of assistance during medical and family emergencies. She was well loved for her strength of character and courage in the face of numerous medical challenges. Sandy's home and garden, designed by her husband, an architect, were her pride and joy, and, along with her cats, were her favorite place on earth. A consummate entertainer and hostess, Sandy was famous for her lavish Christmas Parties and brilliant and glittering outdoor Christmas decorations.

Final Services will be private; a memorial celebration party will be held in the near future celebrating her life. Please honor Sandy's wishes that, in place of flowers, honorariums be sent to the Starzl Transplant Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center or to the Make a Wish Foundation.
