Sandra Ely Nix, 85, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late John Robert Nix, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Rd.

Sandra was born August 15, 1940 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Hansel Williams and Bertha Mae Snyder Williams.

Sandra was the youngest of five children, and was very loved by all of her siblings. She was especially close to her beloved sister Sheila. They had many adventures together and remained close throughout her life. Sandra was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was fondly known as "Meme" by all. Sandra was a talented seamstress and crafter and used her talents to spread love to her entire family, friends and church community. Sandra supported her boys in scouting and every activity they participated in. She never missed an event in her children's, grandchildren's and even great- grandchildren's lives. She was very proud of her family. Sandra was blessed to be able to share her life with two devoted husbands. Sandra had a very childlike spirit and it showed through her love for children. She taught Kindergarten and Sunday School, and she was always a cheerleader for the underdog. She was quick witted and loved to joke. Her greatest love was making her grandchildren laugh. She ended many stories by saying " That's my story and I'm stickin' to it". She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary Ely (Sherri) and Steven Ely (Sheila) of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Elaine Bennett and Kaye Craft (Roland) of Lexington, SC; seven grandchildren, Krista Ely, Kasey Ely Trembath (Ben), Keenan Ely, Jackson Ely, Laure Horn (Jimmy), Trey Craft (Leann), and Tanner Craft(Kelsey) and ten great-grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Sheila Smith (Arnie) of Summerville, SC.

She was predeceased by her first husband of 28 years, Scheffer Ely and her second husband of 35 years, John Nix.
