Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 23, 2010, Samuel "Sam" Edward Youngblood, widower of Frances Marion Youngblood. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services at Pinecrest Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at ten o'clock. Burial will conclude in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC at three o'clock. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Tuesday afternoon from five until seven o'clock. Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road, Charleston, SC 29407. Mr. Youngblood was born on December 19, 1920, in Williston, South Carolina, son of the late Glover A. Youngblood and Clarie Gardner Youngblood. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and a retired Planner & Estimator with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mr. Youngblood was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and the Charleston City Police Reserve Officers Auxiliary, Life Member of the John Birch Society and was a Mason. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Youngblood Harrison and husband Tucker of Taylors, SC, Patricia H. Blanton and husband Pete of Charleston; a son, Glenn S. Youngblood and wife Susan of Charleston; two sisters, Florine Carter of Columbia, SC, Eloise Mundy of Aiken, SC; a brother, Thomas Watson Youngblood of Pensacola, FL; and numerous grandchildren and great-grand children.
