Samuel D. Solomon, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Sylvia Tesler Solomon, entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 25, 2012. His graveside funeral service will be held in Emanu-El Cemetery Sunday, August 26, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Mr. Solomon was born February 12, 1919 in Charleston, SC, son of Israel Solomon and Molly Solomon. He was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School. He retired as a manager with Altman Furniture Company and was a member of Synagogue Emanu-El.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Sanford H. Solomon (Shelley) of Charleston; daughter in-law, Hedy Solomon-Gross of Munsey, NY; four grandchildren, Brad A. Solomon and Ryan S. Solomon, both of Charlotte, NC, Josh Solomon (Barbara) of Hollywood, FL, and Erica Rabin (Eli) of Teaneck, NJ; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Norma Rae Karesh of Charleston. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Mark Solomon.
