Samuel C. Sheleby, 64, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of R. Steven Houtz entered into eternal rest Monday, December 19, 2022. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 at 11:30 AM. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Samuel was born July 27, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Thamon Sheleby and the late Hessie Mitchum Sheleby. He worked as a computer programmer, loved cruising and traveling. He will be remembered most by the way he loved his family.  

He is survived by husband of 29 years, Steven; brother, Charles Lee Sheleby of Awendaw; a niece and nephew, Shannon Igoe (David) of Awendaw and Charles Sheleby, Jr. (Amy) of Moncks Corner; great niece and great nephews Michael Sheleby (Lindsey), Hannah Sheleby, Mason Sheleby, and Travis Sheleby; and great-great nephews, Matthew, Flint and Henry. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Timmons Sheleby.
