Samuel McManus, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was born on March 20, 1950, in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late McAstor McManus and the late Floride Ackerman McManus.
A dedicated man by profession, Samuel worked as a welder, demonstrating his commitment and skill in his craft. Beyond his work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Samuel cherished his role as a father and grandfather, often delighting in attending his grandchildren's softball and volleyball games. His love for fishing and watching westerns added to his many interests, enriching the lives of those around him with his warm and funny spirit. He also loved classic cars and wood building.
Samuel is survived by his daughter, Kelli McManus of Summerville, SC; five grandchildren, Hannah Gore, Hannah "Rene'" Haselden, Shelby Bateman, Kimberli Gore, and Ethan Gore; two sisters, Juanita Boyd (Bill) of Summerville, SC, and Joan Ermer (Rob) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers, Mack McManus (Clara) of Long Island, NY, and Arthur McManus (Fran) of Moncks Corner, SC; as well as three sisters-in-law, Linda Hanf of Mount Pleasant, SC, Barbara Henson (Jay) of Decatur, AL, and Nancy Boozer (Jim) of Pickens, SC; brother-in-law, Tommy Hanf (Robin) of Charleston, SC; and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Terri H. McManus, along with his nephew, Shawn McManus, nephew William Boyd, his brother-in-law, Norman Hanf, and his grandchild, Ethan "Neener" Hedrick.
A visitation in honor of Samuel McManus will be held on Saturday, 1/18 at 11:00am to 1:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Samuel’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him for his kindness, love, and the cherished moments they shared together.
