Samuel W. Colston

Samuel W. Colston III, 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Wanda Carter Colston, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 26, 2022. His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Orange Grove Charter School from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Samuel was born May 26, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Samuel W. Colston Jr. and Alma Saterwaite Colston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later worked as a radio traffic announcer for WEZL radio. He was also Executive Producer/Publisher for the Wanstar Group, Tye Records, Chela Records, and Millennium K Entertainment.

In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Samuel is survived by his son, Tye Colston, Grandfather to Ty'Kel, Tyreke, Lynnasia, Ty'la, and Serenity Colston; And his daughter, Chela Colston Mallam; Grandfather to Mariah and Corielle Mallam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Samuel's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
