Sammy Lue Sadler, 93, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of LCDR David H. Sadler, SC, USN (Ret.) went to be with her Lord Wednesday, February 28, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held in Stuhr's Mt Pleasant chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends a half hour before the service. Interment will follow in Mt Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Sammy was born April 1, 1930 in Disney, Oklahoma, the youngest of eight children of the late William Boyd and the late Minnie Mae McHenry Boyd. As a military wife, Sammy was able to travel to many places, including Hawaii, the Philippines and Key West, FL. She was an excellent cook, an expert quilter and seamstress, and owned the Sew n' Sew on Coleman Blvd. She and her husband were charter members of East Cooper Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her strong faith in Christ and the way she sacrificially loved and served her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of almost 75 years, David; three children, Doug Sadler (Sheryl) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Marilyn Lue Metcalf (John) of James Island, SC, Dave Sadler (Pat) of Awendaw, SC, and daughter-in-law, Jael Colunga Sadler of Mt. Pleasant, SC; 12 grandchildren, Matt Sadler (Erin), Brooke Sadler Frasier (Ryan), Zack Sadler (Jen), Cameron Rick (Chris), Marcus Morillo, Rhett Morillo, Christian Metcalf, Lauren Sadler (Kelli), Jake Sadler, Luke Sadler (Hillary), Daniel Sadler, Celia Sadler (A.J.), 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces. She was preceded in death by her son Devin Sadler, her granddaughter-in-law Sarah Falkner Sadler, and her grandson Clayton David Sadler.
