Sally James Pyatt, 47, wife of Anthony Pyatt, of Goose Creek, SC, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at her home. Sally was born August 1, 1962 in Summerville, SC, the daughter of the late Jack L. James and Doreta Mizell James. She was a 1979 graduate of Stall High School and attended cosmetology school in Wilmington, NC. She earned an Associate's degree in accounting from Trident Technical College and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper. Sally was an avid gardener who had more than the proverbial green thumb; she had a green hand and had great success with getting plants and flowers to grow. Sally was a creative and talented artist who enjoyed making artificial floral arrangements for friends and family and she also painted. Her warm and caring heart included her beloved pets, her long haired dachshund Dessie and two birds, Sassy and Miss Birdie. She was also known to open her home to stray animals. Sally was an advocate for the environment and supported the World Wildlife Association and National Park Society.
She is survived by her husband, Tony of Goose Creek, SC; mother, Doreta James of Ladson, SC; parents-in-law Faye and Charles Pyatt, sister-in-law, Michelle Owens, brother-in-law John Owens all of Goose Creek, SC; aunt and uncle Carol and Hank Nowicki of Ladson, SC; nephew, Drew Droze of Goose Creek, SC; and a great niece and great nephew.
The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston Thursday, June 17, 2010 at eleven o'clock. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from six until eight o'clock.
