Sally Anne Nelson, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Ray Paul Nelson, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 14, 2025. A Liturgy Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 pm. Sally was born May 5, 1936 in Rockland, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Peter Edward Gilmartin and Hilda Holmes Chase Gilmartin.

Her family was extremely important to her; she frequently hosted family reunions and maintained strong bonds with her numerous nieces and nephews. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of almost 70 years, she is survived by her daughters, Debra Sarvis (Glen), Ellen Welch (Greg); six grandchildren, Margaret Sarvis, Abigail O'Quinn (Matthew), Stephen Welch (Karin), Tyler Nelson (Erin), Travis Nelson, and Arianna Nelson; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, four brothers, and her son, Paul Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Hospice.
