Ruth Ann Wilson

Ruth Ann Wilson, 80, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Leon R. Wilson, Jr. died Monday, October 10, 2016. Her funeral service will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens where her parents and Lee's parents are buried. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Ruth was born January 13, 1936 in Birmingham, AL to Helen Kreider Myers and Robert Lee Myers, Jr. She was a 1954 graduate of North Charleston High School where she participated in many of the activities of the school, including the National Honor Society, Drama Club and Glee Club.

Ruth married her childhood sweetheart, Dr. Lee Wilson on October 18, 1954 and they have shared 61 years, filled with many adventures including five children: Leon R. Wilson, III (Mirna), LeighAnne Lewis (Kris), Tracy Lynn Carter (Andy), Stephanie Fairbank (Tony), Michele Marie Hairfield (Rodney); thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruth has been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mentor and partner in many activities that includes, traveling, fishing and boating. She and Lee enjoyed spending time together on their pontoon boat on a lake or river, catching fish or not.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Lee Myers, III.
