Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 5, 2012, Ruth Moss Polk, of Charleston, SC, and widow of Oswald C. Polk. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Sunday, July 8, 2012 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 4:00 pm. Committal services will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy.) from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
Born October 17, 1928 in Salem, SC, Ruth was a daughter of the late William Henry Moss and Willie Bryant Moss. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Oswald C. Polk, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and William Henry David Polk of Charleston; four daughters, Octavia Coon and Stephanie Miesmer both of Charleston, Pamela Droste of Summerville and Margaret Tabor of Charleston; a brother, Edwin Moss of Simpsonville, SC; a sister, Becky Fuller of Wahalla, SC; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James K. Polk and a daughter, Cheryle Polk Mothershed.
