Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 14, 2012, Ruth M. Phelps, widow of Leslie E. Phelps. She resided at Twin Oaks Villa in North Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service, Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Prayers of Final Commendation, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's Downtown Chapel, Thursday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Phelps was born August 6, 1930 in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of Beckwith Haynes McKeithan and Nellie Mary McKevlin McKeithan. She retired from The Charleston Air Force Base as a communications supervisor. She was an avid reader, a NASCAR enthusiast and a huge fan of Jeff Gordon. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends at Twin Oaks.

She is survived by two sons: Jackson Locklair of California and Tommy Locklair of North Charleston, SC; one brother: Perry Thomas McKeithan of Green Pond, SC. She is predeceased by her son, Robert D. Locklair.
