Ruth Huegel Mciver

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 17, 2010, Ruth Huegel McIver, widow of Dr. Forde A. McIver.  Residence, Johns Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services at Johns Island Presbyterian Church, Saturday morning, June 19, 2010, at eleven o'clock.  Burial will follow in the churchyard.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Friday afternoon from five until seven o'clock.  Memorials may be made to Johns Island Presbyterian Church, 2550 Bohicket Road, Johns Island, SC  29455 and/or Hospice of Charleston Foundation, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC  29464.

Mrs. McIver was born on February 24, 1921 in Madison, Wisconsin, daughter of late Raymond William Huegel and Freda Cotton Huegel.  She was a retired Registered Nurse and member of Johns Island Presbyterian Church.  Mrs. McIver was also a member of the Cobblestone Quilters Guild  and a former member of the Sea Island Republican Women's Club.

Surviving are her children, Forde A. McIver, Jr. and wife Ivy K. McIver of Ravenel, Herbert Todd McIver and wife Toni A. McIver of Hardeeville, SC, Miriam McIver Delamar and husband James J. Delamar, Jr. of Johns Island; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Allston Kitchens and her other caregivers, Bea Wiggins, Cathy Ayers, Sara Jones, and Sherry Vincent.
