Ruth Kuehn Kippenberg, passed into a new existence on Thursday, December 30, 2010.  All services will be private. Her ashes will be shipped to Bremen, Germany, as her final resting place. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.Mrs. Kippenberg was born on March 1, 1915 in Berlin, Germany and spent the first two decades of her life there before her family moved to Hawaii.  Back on the mainland by 1945, she met and married her husband Hans Kippenberg, the owner of a New York travel agency.  Until her retirement she worked for George Jensen, an upscale store in New York City. After 1985 the Kippenbergs lived at The Palms of Mount Pleasant. She is survived by nieces and nephews in Germany and Switzerland and a nephew, Dr. Peter Becker of Columbia, SC.  The family wishes to thank the staff of The Palms for easing her transition; special thanks for loving care go to Carrie Davis and Kristie Higdon of Hospice of Charleston.
