Ruth M. Jones

Ruth M. Jones, 90, of North Charleston, SC died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, in a local hospital.

Born July 8, 1921 in Westminster, SC she was one of six children of John McIntyre and Lessie R. Smith McIntyre. She was a member of Cooper River Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was the loving wife of the late Herbert Jones and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters: Laura Funkhouser (Herb), Janet Mobley (Jim) and Diane Welch (Dennis); son, David Jones (June); eleven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Jones; infant daughter, Mary Jones and daughter, Theresa Davis.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's North Area Chapel Thursday, February 2, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
