Ruth Elizabeth Booth Hutson, 85, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Harry H.F. Hutson, Jr. died Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held at the graveside on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 11, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 1:00 pm until time of the service

Ruth was born January 16, 1931 in Buchanan, Virginia, daughter of the late Robert Hillary Booth and the late Mamie Gertrude Boblett Booth. She was a former employee of Pitt Street Pharmacy in Mt. Pleasant, but her joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ruth loved reading, gardening, working, bowling, cooking (especially ham) and was a great baker. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and loved working with the many young girls in her troop. Ruth was always there to help others and was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School.

She is survived by daughter, Cindy Hall and her husband, Chip, of Dorchester, SC; three sons, Gregory Hutson and his wife, Tiffany, of Moncks Corner, SC, John Hutson of Atlantic Beach, FL, and Harry "Hootie" H.F. Hutson, III and his wife, Ann, of Mount Pleasant, SC; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
