Ruth Ellen Huber

Ruth E. Huber, 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC and former, longtime resident of Laurel, Md, passed away on February 15, surrounded by her family.  A funeral mass will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at Stella Maris Church on Sullivan's Island, SC at 11:00 am with a reception to follow at the Club House at Southampton Pointe, Mt. Pleasant. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
 
Born March 23, 1936 to Julia Kappler and Aloysius Heim in Pittsburgh PA, she was a mother of 7, Grandmother of 12 and the great grandmother of 1.  She was married to her loving husband, Thomas E. Huber for 59 years.  Ruth grew up in Pittsburgh with her 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  She moved to California, then to Md and eventually to SC.  Ruth's home was always open to friends and family.  She always had a smile on her face and shared that  infectious laugh with all. She was eternally kind and had a nurturing way about her.
She volunteered with the Ladies of Charity at St. Mary of the Mills Church and the church bazaar, she gave her time and energy to the many causes. Even at the end, Ruth could be found giving of herself to others, welcoming new residents to the Palms and making them feel at home. 
 
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Huber, and her sisters Rita Cully (Jack), Cathy Sirianni (Norman), Joe (Millie) Heim and Jack Rogers, her son-in-law.
Ruth is survived by Linda Thompson (Sunshine), Barbara Baker, James Huber, Edward Huber (Connie), Diane Rogers, Thomas Huber (Danielle) and Sharon Gavin (Martin), and 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her sister Jeannie Brighton (Carl), Regis Heim (Dottie) , Tom (Jean).  There will forever be a hole in our hearts, but we know Heaven is real and she will make a beautiful angel!
