Ruth Eloise Smoak Horres

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of July 25, 2010, Ruth Eloise Smoak Horres, widow of George W. Horres, Sr. Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at ten o'clock in Ashley River Baptist Church.  Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Tuesday between five and seven o'clock.

Mrs. Horres was born May 16, 1915 in Branchville, SC, the daughter of John Gary Smoak, Sr. and Leckie Heaton Smoak.  She was an active member of Ashley River Baptist Church for over sixty-five years and retired as a Kindergarten teacher from Ashley River Pre-School.

She is survived by two sons: George W. Horres, Jr. (Linda Sue) of James Island, SC and Robert Keith Horres (Joyce) of Lexington, SC; one brother: Alfred H. Smoak (Tivie) of Branchville, SC; five grandchildren: Kevin Horres (Terry), Teri Stone (Brent), Greg Horres (Jennifer), Scott Horres, and Jason Horres (Dee Dee); thirteen great grandchildren: Allison, Austin, Leah, Ansley, Meredith, Mary Ruth, Susie, Steven, Briana, Brittany, Cody, Hayden and Kameron; and many nieces and nephews.
