Ruth Jane Holly

Ruth Jane Ehrhardt Holly, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of John Durward Holly, Jr., entered into eternal rest Friday, November 1, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive at 2:00 pm. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Ruth was born January 3, 1924 in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, daughter of the late Jacob B. Ehrhardt and Mary Ruth Groseclose Ehrhardt Copeland. She was a graduate of Newberry College and was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell. Ruth was a member of Lutheran Church of The Redeemer and a member of The Bell Pioneers.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years of Charleston; three sons, John D. Holly, III (Mary Beth) of Crofton, MD, David James Holly (Maryalice) of Greenville, SC, Timothy Ehrhardt Holly (Shannon) of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, John D. Holly, IV, Madeline H. Sales, Noelle H. Morgan, Katie Cecere, Jeremy Holly, Brian Holly, Chelsea Holly, Lindsay Holly; nine great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew, Anna Ehrhardt, Suzanne Manlattas and Glen Ehrhardt.
