Ruth W. Drake

Eartha Ruth Wannamaker Drake, 90, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Robert Drake, died Monday, September 26, 2011, in a local hospital.

Born April 18, 1921 in Orangeburg County, SC she was the last survivor of 11 children of Newton Wannamaker and Betty Williams Wannamaker.  She was a member of Holmes Avenue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Drake is survived by her son, Jackie Drake and his wife Chris of Ooltewah, TN; grandchildren, Catherine Symmes of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Paul Cashman and Robbie Drake both of Hanahan, Ashleigh Gallop of Gonzales, LA and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings; her daughter, Barbara Drake Cashman; and a son, Robert Drake, Jr.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 2:30 PM.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
