Ruth Estelle Brown Boyd, 87, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of 62 years to the late Joseph E. Boyd entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the West Ashley Chapel.

Ruth was born September 6, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Red Brown and Ruth Thackeray Brown. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a wonderful cook. Ruth was an avid Bowler at Ashley Lanes and a former member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Ruth is survived by her two sons: Joseph E. Boyd, Jr. (Mary) of Hanahan, SC, and Kenneth R. Boyd (Kim) of Charleston, SC, four grandchildren: Karen Dickson (John), Dr. Elizabeth Cammer (Tommy), Bradley Boyd and Tiffany Bailey (Josh), five great-grandchildren: Matthew Russell, Adam Russell, Dylan Cammer, Caitlyn Cammer, and Connor Bailey.
