Ruth Flanders Biggerstaff, 95, a devoted wife, mother, and child of God, passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at the home of her daughter on Wadmalaw Island, S.C. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 in John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway at 4:00 pm. Family will receive friends from 3:00 pm till time of service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.Born in Americus, Georgia, April 16, 1919 to the late William Roberts Flanders and the late Julia Pauline Jones, she grew up in Macon, Georgia and attended Georgia College. She married the late Edward Daniel Biggerstaff Jr. in 1939 and was his wife until his death November 13, 2004. She was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston, where she lived most of her adult life.Ruth is survived by her daughter, Anne Biggerstaff Rembold and her husband Bill, and her son Edward Daniel Biggerstaff III and his wife Elisabeth living in Savannah, Georgia. Surviving grandchildren include Lise Biggerstaff Ibsen and her husband Christopher, Scott Biggerstaff and his wife Teresa, Bonnie Rembold Scapellato and her husband Ryan, Daniel Rembold and his wife Julie, and Eric Rembold and his wife Julie.
