Ruth Bonnett Ballentine, 88, of Summerville, SC, widow of Virgil Chester Ballentine died Monday, February 20, 2012, in a local hospital.
Born April 2, 1923 in Aiken, SC she was one of six children of JaDorse Bonnett and Nezzie Boyer Bonnett. She was the owner of Love N Care Child Care Facility and a member of Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ballentine is survived by her daughters: Sandra Roy of Summerville, SC, Corinna "Cookie" Foster of Greenwood, SC and Ruby Stockman of Clinton, SC; one brother, Harold Bonnett of Johns Island, SC; sisters: Dorothy Caton of Johns Island, SC, Margaret Domsch of MN and Hazel Crosby of Johns Island, SC; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Lillian Litchfield, and grandson Mark Roy.
The memorial service will be held at Ridge Baptist Church, 2168 Ridge Church Road, Summerville, SC 29483, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:30 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
