Ruth Marlowe Baker, 86, of Awendaw, South Carolina, wife of William A. Baker died Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 12:00 pm until time of the service.
Ruth was born December 4, 1932 in Horry County, South Carolina, daughter of the late George Washington Marlowe and the late Maude Barber Marlowe. She was a homemaker, an expert cook and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William "Billy" Baker of Awendaw, SC; daughter, Teresa Wood (Steve) of Leavenworth, KS; two grandchildren, Ashley L. Wood and Jonathan L. Wood both of Leavenworth, KS; three great grandchildren, Brody, Kaylee and Cooper; two brothers-in-law, Robert R. Baker (Claire) of Awendaw, SC and Melvin C. Baker of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Roper Hospital, Sandpiper Rehab, Interim Health Care and Crescent Hospice for their care of Ruth.
