Russell "Bubba" Wright

Russell A. Wright "Bubba", 83, of Hanahan, SC, husband of Alice MarieVierra Wright entered into eternal rest Sunday, May 11, 2014. His funeral service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Russell was born September 9, 1930 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Luther Wright and the late Kathleen Grooms Wright. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired from Civil Service after 32 years. He played cards, hunted, fished and also enjoyed shrimping. He was a dedicated family man.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Marie Wright of Hanahan, SC; sons: Paul Russell Wright and his wife Carolyn of Summerville, SC, Kenny William Wright and Wayne David Wright and his wife Peyton all of Hanahan, SC; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Walker of Charleston, SC and Alice Mae McCants and her husband Marion of Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marion Wright; and two sisters, Joan Vierra and Jean Walters.
