Russell Clay Peavey, Jr.

Russell Clay Peavey, Jr., 91, of North Charleston, SC, widower of Martha Ellen Peavey, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 4, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 in the Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church, 5931 Murray Drive at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Russell was born September 12, 1932 in Oak Park, Il, son of the late Russell Clay Peavey, Sr. and the late Ellen Isabelle Chambers Peavey.  He was an electrician who served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years.  He was a member of Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his three sons: Mark (Wanda) Peavey of Oak Island, NC, Michael Allen Peavey of North Charleston, SC and James Russell (KJ) Peavey of Greenville, SC; his sister, Dolores Arlene Malarich of Lombard, IL; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Martha Ellen Peavey and his sister, Barbara Mae Jensby.
