Russell Garrard, Jr.

Russell Garrard, Jr., 97, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Mildred Elizabeth Garrard entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 21, 2024. His graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in the Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Russell was born March 7, 1927 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, son of the late Herbert Russell Garrard and the late Ola Mae Prince Garrard. He enjoyed serving in his church and going on walks. Russell served and retired from the United States Navy. 

He is survived by daughter, Bonnie Carr of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Brenda Carter (Justin) of Denton TX; great grandchildren, Dylan Carter and Emma Carter; sibling, Ronnie Goff of Memphis, TN. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by son, Bruce William Garrard; and brother, D. Garrard
