Rudolph Allen Lane, 79, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widower of Mary Frances Kneece Lane entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 6, 2013. His Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul, 126 Coming Street, at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Churchyard . The family will receive friends Friday between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Rudy was born August 1, 1933 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Charlie Wilson Lane and Edna Davis Lane. He graduated from Rivers High School and earned his bachelors degree from The Citadel, where he was an active member of the Brigadier Club. He retired as an import specialist with the US Customs Service. He was a US Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict and served two tours of duty in South Vietnam as a public advisor. Rudy was an active and faithful member of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul.
He is survived by his son, Rande Allen Lane (Sandy) of Folly Beach, SC; two daughters, Lori L. Mann of Norcross, GA, Mary K. Lane of Sarasota, FL and five grandchildren, Joey, Gus, Andrew, Mary Martha and Alexa.
