Ruby Irene Spiers

Ruby Irene Harrelson Spiers, 98, of Ladson, South Carolina, widow of James E. Harrelson, Sr. entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 24, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

After a long, hard fought battle, mama has finally gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her son James E. Harrelson, Jr., who faithfully stood by her side during all of her illnesses. She will be forever missed by him. Mama had a daughter, Bettey Hagerdorne of Dayton, Ohio who passed away a while back. She has also been missed for all the love she gave to my mother. I know they have been reunited again. She was preceded in death by her father Levi Ruffin Grainger and her mother Addie Grainger.

She was one of fourteen children. She is survived by her sister, Tina Grainger of Conway, SC, brother, Jerry Grainger of Tabor City, NC, sister, Ernestine Russell of Tabor City, NC, sister, Geraldine Hardee of Nichols, SC, and sister, Pricilla Gable of Lexington, SC.

As for mama's other immediate family, who turned their back on her when she needed them the most. Let it be known that from this day forward their names will not be mentioned in any conversation. You know who you are and so does everyone else. Mama will never cry over you again. Hope you are proud of yourself.
