Ruby Whetstine Nichols, 92, widow of the late Carl P. Nichols, Sr., and former long time resident of Mount Pleasant, SC., died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at a care facility in Goose Creek, SC.

The relatives and friends of Ruby Whetstine Nichols are invited to attend her memorial service Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born November 12, 1918 in Burnsville, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Sherman A. and Cleo Hutchins Whetstine. She was a loving wife, and mother. She is survived by her two sons: Jerry L. Roberts and his wife Mary of Goose Creek, SC and Carl P. Nichols, Jr. and his wife Terri of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Trey Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Bonnie Vogler of Ladson, SC, Debbie Higgins of Jonesboro, TN, Dean Roberts of Jonesboro, TN and Donna Pace of Ocean Springs, MS.; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Sue Skinner, grandson, Jimmy Roberts and two brothers, William Whetstine and Ralph Whetstine.
