Ruby F. Sexton Bowman Mcdermott

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 28, 2010, Ruby F. Sexton Bowman McDermott, widow of Kenneth Eugene McDermott.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  All services will be private.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Mrs. McDermott was born May 17, 1917 in West Jefferson, NC, a daughter of the late Larkin C. Sexton and the late Cordelia S. Sexton.  She was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she served in the nursery for many years.  Ruby was also a member of the Meminger Hall Garden Club. 

She is survived by five sons, Buster C. Bowman , Larry Bowman (Georgia), Richard E. McDermott (Derenda), Kevin John McDermott (Ann) and James Patrick McDermott (Kim); two daughters, Shirley Autry (Gene), and Mary Robinson (Greg); two sisters, Kathryn Harter and Lillian Pack; a brother, William "Bill" Sexton; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and special caregivers, April Shammel, Bonnie Floyd, Donna Gailor, Margaret Lee and Jane Doar.
